This canyon is stunning! It offers black basalt talus slopes below steep cliffs, hillsides of brilliant wildflowers, and an array of birds. That&#8217;s right: Bird lovers, take note. This is an avian paradise. In addition to the ever-present raptors that soar above virtually all desert country, Black Canyon boasts stunning populations of mourning doves and western kingbirds. You&#8217;ll also find grouse, Hungarian partridge, and chukar.

<p><strong>Driving Directions</strong><br />
From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 110 to merge onto I-82 E/US-97 S toward Yakima. Take exit 26 for WA-821 N toward WA-823/Selah. Turn right onto WA-821 N. Take the 1st left onto WA-823 S/Harrison Rd. Sharp right onto N Wenas Rd.  Turn left to stay on N Wenas Rd.  Destination will be on right.  You can park in the parking lot next to the North Wenas Road, or travel the primitive dirt road to park near the gate.<br />
