I led a hike for the Mountaineers Basic Wilderness Travel course. Reached snow at about 3800 ft. Unable to find trail after the saddle. Our party began postholing up to the middle of our thighs – so we turned around at the saddle. I would give this one a few more weeks to melt out before doing as a hike.
Participants include Nicole Hansen (leader), Rhonda Bell, Andrea, Kirt Lenard, Ariel Lopez, Elena Kopteva and Ujjwol Pant.

Take Highway 2 to Skykomish. 1.9 miles after passing the ranger station, take a left turn on FR 6066 (a sign indicates this road). It is a one-lane road, and when you see the sign, immediately slow down and prepare to turn. There is a fork 1.8 miles up FR 6066. Bear right, uphill. It will be 6.6 miles total to the trailhead.
