Exploratory hike on Tiger Mountain. The loop runs via the (1) Preston Tr, (2) Lower Bootleg Tr, (3) Middle Bootleg Tr, (4) Upper Bootleg Tr, (5) West Tiger No. 1 Tr, (6) West Tiger RR Grade Tr, (7) Tiger Mtn Tr, (8) Lingering Tr, (9) Dwight’s Way, and (10) return via Preston Trail. The rocky road to access this loop is a bit annoying – but usually keeps the crowds away. One junction on the Middle Bootleg Tr is unsigned – we spent about 15-20 minutes going down the wrong way (an old road unmarked on the map) and returning to correct our mistake. This was a great hike with wonderful weather – a small bit of Christmas in this relatively dry winter.
Participants include Nicole Hansen (leader), Louise Kornreich, Richard Dubois, Lisa Grayson, and Tom Davis.
